Simplicity is an essential aspect of Nature. The most simple living beings increase their complexity based on needs and experimentation, but always relying on basic instincts.

Humans, on the other hand, have the possibility to use their freedom and their capacity of expression and cooperation to introduce artificial complexity in their lives. Their motivations include power, control, and exclusiveness.

Complex solutions are frequently associated with intelligence, but simple solutions require a lot more of it. Luxury and elitism are useless and counterproductive, usual symptoms of deeper problems. Following the path of simplicity is a good strategy to do less harm and more good.
